Christmas can be overwhelming even for the best of us, so it’s understandable why some people choose not to celebrate the season. In 2001, legal thriller writer John Grisham embraced that idea with his novel Skipping Christmas, which was subsequently adapted by screenwriter Chris Columbus and director Joe Roth as the perennial holiday film,Christmas with the Kranks, which hit theaters in 2004.

The Santa Clauses‘ Tim Allen and Halloween Ends star Jamie Lee Curtis portray the titular couple, Luther and Nora Krank, both of whom are surprised when they are transformed into the neighborhood pariahs just because they want to skip Christmas in favor of a Caribbean cruise. Since their daughter, Blair (Julie Gonzalo), joined the Peace Corps and moved away, the Kranks refuse to budge when it comes to not decorating their home for the holidays. But when Blair announces that she’ll be home for Christmas, the Kranks have to make peace with their neighbors and quickly put together the Christmas party and decorations that used to be their holiday tradition.

But you don’t have to wait until the last minute to spend Christmas with the Kranks. We’re here to tell you where you can watch it — and that’s on one of the biggest streaming platforms in the world.

Where to watch It’s a Wonderful Life
James Stewart and Donna Reed in It's a Wonderful Life.

If ever there was a movie that could make generations cry with tears of happiness, it's the Frank Capra holiday classic It's a Wonderful Life. Films like A Christmas Story and A Charlie Brown Christmas are also popular Christmas movies, but It's a Wonderful Life is on another level. This is one of the greatest movies ever made, and it's a genuinely moving story about George Bailey, as played by Hollywood icon Jimmy Stewart.

It's a Wonderful Life arrived in theaters in 1946, just a year after World War II ended. And for most of the movie, it paints a pretty bleak picture of George's life. He had dreams and ambitions beyond his small town, but George sacrificed them all for the sake of his family's Building and Loan business, and for the town of Bedford Falls. On Christmas Eve in 1945, George faces financial ruin and likely prison time through no fault of his own. That's when an angel named Clarence (Henry Travers) intervenes and prevents George from committing suicide by showing him a world where he had never been born at all.
